After many a calculation over last year I fell back to good old trusty guess work
The great planes revolver comes as a 46-50 size nitro, so normally a 3520 or 4120 size motor would suffice, but i wanted speed, and alot .(now i want more).
I eventually ended up with very nice setup:
NNB 4130 / 6 510kv motor: http://www.rcgear.co.za/brushless-motor-a4130-6.html
NNB 80A ESC (High voltage, peak at 100a) http://www.rcgear.co.za/nnb-80a-hv-esc-no-bec.html
Emp 11x10 proppellor : http://www.rcgear.co.za/xyh-electric-pr ... x-10e.html
9s 1p Lipo pack: this the same packs used on my Funta x 100 conversion, (which still flying EXTREAMLY well).
The setup drew a nice 73amps on half charge on the ground for about 2000w. Funny enough, up in the air this spike to about 85 amps for total of 2800w (eagle tree below).. seems like the prop was mostly on stalled state during ground test.
Pictures will follow (hope with video) after this weekend of more testing. Hope to get bit more speed (250km/h) with modified 12x12 prop (cut down to 10x12) and running maybe 10s setup.
