Glitch and jitters

Glitch and jitters

Postby Maui » Tue Apr 06, 2010 11:21 am

I bought a secondhand JR2610 with R700 receiver. I have a Windrider Minibee, all stock.
So went out Friday, first flight and flew a couple of seconds, Bee locked up and I couldn’t control her.
Luckyily the epp foam and long grass made for a soft landing. One Turnigy servo (brand new) seemed to have failed. So went home and took out 2 servo’s from my 450 heli, and put them in.
Later the same afternoon went flying again. The MiniBee seems to jitter in the air. Then after a while locked up again. But this time the lock “came loose” and I put her down right away. Put in another 2S lipo, and then went up again. Same thing, fly a while, jitters start, and then locks up. This time the crash caused the motor to rip a piece of the EPP off. So flying was done.
Any clues as to why I get these jitters would be appreciated. TX/RX/Servo’s ????

Koos, nope all in one wonder! Brushed motor, brushed esc,rx and lipo.
What I've tried so far.

Change crystals from 35.100 to 35.080 - did range test, jitters
Put in a different RX RS77S autoscan, worked perfect with range test.

I then noticed that the rx antenna was a bit shorter than the RS77S, so I purchased a new JR rx antenna, soldered in, did range test, and seemed better, but still jittered.

Took out the wing last night, with a fair breeze, tried to fly it a bit to see what it did with the tx antenna fully out, and still jittered.
I decided to bring in the wing but missjudged a tree, ending up in the upper branches. Had to climb the tree, and supplied some amusement to some onlookers with my cursing and shouting out of frustration. Wing wasn't damaged at all from the impact in the branches, the fall when I got it out damaged it a bit.
Anyway, my conclusion is that my RX is faulty. I am as a last resort going to try a another ESC tonight (not that I think is will make a change)

Any other suggestions would really be appreciated.

try power it with own battery (remember to remove the red from ESC wire (middle)). or use a short extension wire with the red cut off, then you don't need to try fix the plug after

if you don't get interference, then you know its the BEC in the esc giving issues.

So the cullprit was my ESC!!! Couldn't believe it! Anyway, put in a brushed ESC from a old Honey Bee King (before brushless was done) and this seemed to solve the problem!!!
